The  Hungry  Bag

Johnny liked travelling very much. One day, he carried his backpack and went out for a hiking. He came to a small town. It’s lunch time. Johnny felt exhausted and was very hungry. So he quickly found a restaurant which he had never been there before. The sign of the restaurant showed “All You Can Eat!” A waiter came up to greet him when Johnny walked close to the door.

“How much do you charge for the lunch?” Johnny asked. “Oh, sir! We are all-you-can-eat. You can enjoy as much food as you want, with only ten dollars for every customer.” “Ummm--, ten dollars, sounds good.” Johnny went into the restaurant. He found a table, put his backpack into a chair, and ordered a lot of food.

The food was very tasty and delicious. The atmosphere was so nice with soft music. Johnny was quite satisfied with the lunch. When he was full, he asked for bill to check out. It’s $20!! “Haii--, there must be something wrong.” Johnny called for the waiter. “Excuse me, you just told me that it’s $10 a person. How come it becomes $20?”

“Sir, we are a very busy and popular restaurant. Do you see so many customers waiting outside? Your bag occupies one position. So we have to charge you $20 for taking two seats.” “What!!” Johnny was irritated. But he thought fast and quickly calmed down. “Well, if I pay you $20, can I sit down again and continue to eat?” “Of course, sir. But I have to tell you one thing. If you can not finish the food you order, we will charge you another $15 as a fine for wasting the food.” “OK!” So Johnny paid $20 and sat down again.

This time, he ordered a lot of food, more than the previous order, until the whole table was put over. Johnny was really full. He just could not eat any more. He looked at the food for a couple of minutes, then suddenly, he turned to his backpack, bowed and said: “My friend! You just watch me eating. You must be very hungry. Now you can start to enjoy your meal.” Johnny opened his backpack, put all the food into the bag, grasped it and walked outside of the restaurant.
